September 2011
Here we are with earthquakes and hurricanes hopefully all behind us…next the falling of the leaves and the changing of the colors.
At this time I always think of looking within to see what internal changes we are ready to make. it is the perfect time for blood test evaluations to check in to our necessary adjustments of eating and wellness habits.
Fall is ideal for cleansing and detoxification programs as it is the ideal temperature; not too hot and not too cold.

March, 2011
As we begin to see signs that winter is on the wane, and spring is slowly approaching, start thinking about energizing your body from its dormant mode.
I am seeing the first buds emerge on the ground and the signs of yellow forsynthia soon to burst forth. I say ‘Hallelujah’! This has been a really cold, icy and snowy winter…and I am happy to stop shovelling and putting down salt !
Think Liver Flush and Detox !

Fall is the season of change–Watching the leaves change from green to yellows, reds and oranges and finally to brown can remind us of our changing bodies.
We need to adapt and acclimate to the changes within our bodies also. Now is when we choose different foods that will warm our bodies and build our reserves as the cold weather begins. Just as the trees and animals begin their dormant rest, so we too can look within to how we can slow down and nurture our bodies with regeneration.
Look to the root vegetables and hardier vegetables and grains for the soups that warm us–choose apples, pears and other fruits that are in season. Eating foods that are grown in this season helps balance our energy. Right now we are entering a more yin season as the cold sets in and nature contracts–therefore, we choose more yang foods that help us to expand and stay warm. So think grains and winter vegetables and protein. This allows us to balance our bodies with the flow of nature.
At this time I am grateful for my family and friends, for the many people over 26 years that I have been able to help ‘make their bodies a better place to live’, for the people I encounter in everday life who have helped me along my path. I am grateful for my good health and I pray that I may continue to help others find their healthy balance.
Happy Thanksgiving to all !!!!

Welcome to Summer 2010 !
This is the beginning of a new integrative health and lifestyle change site. Here you may read new, exciting and innovative ways to begin your first step towards “making your body a better place to live”
We start by assessing how we take care of ourselves during times of stress and during times of non-stress (when is that?!!)
Physical care is approaching your body as your Temple. It is a short go round we have here on planet Earth and so the sooner we live based on that understanding on a daily basis, the more consistent will be the results that we get. We all know how difficult it is to do the day to day routine, but what I advise patients (and keep reminding myself) is that when, not if, you fall by the wayside, just get back on track again. The important part is to withhold your critical self judgment.
By balancing your musculo-skeletal and nervous systems through regular treatments of chiropractic care, massage, shiatsu, yoga toing and general weight bearing exercises, you are taking an active role in de-stressing the body while aiding your body to come back into a natural re-alignment. These physical actions assist the cleansing and drainage of the circulatory and lymphatic systems.
Emotional care is paying attention to the details of how the mind and feelings work which can alter the course of your life decisions. It is simple to say, ‘just make a decision and everything else follows’. We all know about the best laid plans never coming to fruition. So the important part here is calming the spirit and mind through daily meditation, positive imagery and frequent affirmations. This way you are learning and retraining your brain through behavior modification.
These are lessons that it will be able to utilize daily. Affirmations are a method that actually work to get you to emotionally ‘calm’ your fears, replacing fears with new and positive actions. Eventually over time, you have a new pattern of ‘good feeling’ thoughts and achieve the results that you want.
Nutritional care is based not only on what your body eats, but also on what your body absorbs. The health of the gastro-intestinal tract is crucial to the digestion/breakdown of whole foods into smaller particles which can then be absorbed into the bloodstream. Through dietary, clinical laboratory and symptom analysis, we can determine imbalances and design a cleansing, rebuilding and healing program for you. Using proper foods, vitamins, enzymes, minerals and herbs you are on a path to restoring and maintaining your optimal health.
